I am interested in troubleshooting techniques when a user has issues with license activation. Are there tools, log files or something I can work with that will help to narrow down the problem?
Activation errors, etc. can be diagnosed by looking in the SLP error log file, "slp.log". Details of exceptions or other problematic conditions that happen during SLP processing are contained in this log.
If you are on a development box, the easiest way to do that is to do Tools|Show Log in Code Protector. (Code Protector also allows you to clear the log via Tools|Clear Log.)
If you are redistributing the License Administrator, one can start it on the end user machine and select Tools|View Log File.
