A resident license is a very particular form of license that can be installed on any machine (or copied between machines) without activation.  As a result we recommend that it only be using sparingly and the following FAQ gives some guidance as to when one might comsider using a Resident License:

Resident License Best Practice

You can create a Resident License either by 

  • clicking on the New Resident License link under the Manage Licenses tab or
  • setting the Resident Licence tick box when Creating a License from a SKU (default is NOT a Resident License)
