How can I retrieve my old version of Permutation? (FAQ138)

I have updated my permutation to a newer version. But now I would like to revert to an old version of Code Protector and Permutation. Where can I get my old Permutation file since it’s not available to download from the portal? Can InishTech help me to retrieve it?

Sorry but once a permutation is updated to a newer version, the old version can no longer be retrieved by either ISV or InishTech because each permutation is unique to an ISV.

So we always recommend ISV to keep every version of both Permutation file and Code Protector install file they’ve ever used explicitly in their lock disk. So they can revert to an old version anytime they want by uninstalling the current Code Protector and install the old Code Protector and then install old Permutation file in the old Code Protector.

One important principle with SLPS is that the permutation and the Code Protector have always to be the same version to work. So a new version of permutation can not work with an old Code Protector, vice versa.

Although we always recommend to use the latest version which includes many bugfixes than previous versions. Above is only an option when you have significant problems with the latest version.
