2.4.1 What Is A Cookie?. A cookie is a small set of data that a website server may transmit to the Internet browser of a person upon their initial visit to the website, which is updated with each return visit. Cookies come in two basic types: "session cookies" and "persistent cookies". The primary distinction between the two types would be that, whereas session cookies are stored by your browser in your computer's dynamic memory ("RAM") and destroyed when you finish that browsing session, persistent cookies are stored in a small text file saved by your browser to your computer's hard drive, and until a specified expiration date, may be accessed and/or updated with each return visit to the corresponding website. Web sites may use cookies for an indefinite variety of different purposes, such as the storing of your Personally Identifiable Information and browsing preferences so you don't have to reset or retype them at future visits. Finally, web sites may use cookies to give you access to a secure method of transaction or line of communication. Please read Section 2.4.3 below for a general description of the ways we use cookies at our Site.
2.4.2 Managing Your Cookie Preferences. Most Internet browsers automatically accept cookies, but you can usually change your browser to disable acceptance of any cookies acceptance, or give you the option of accepting or rejecting any particular cookie. Please consult the "help" function in your browser if you want to find out how to accept, disable or selectively enable cookies. Even if your browser is configured not to accept cookies, you can still use many of the features on our site. However, we recommend that you accept cookies from the Site so that you will be able to take full advantage of the features and functions of the Services we offer. For information on how to control your cookies go to www.allaboutcookies.org.
2.4.3 Our Use of Cookies. If you are not a registered user of the Site, our cookies do not contain any personally identifying information about you. Some areas of our Site may allow you to register or choose personalization options so we can dynamically direct you to information on the web pages that may suit your interests. By using a cookie, our Site can automatically read your preferences and customize web pages without any further action on your part. All of our cookies can only be read by the Site's web server, so other third party websites cannot read the information in them. The cookies themselves actually only store a reference to information kept on our web server, and do not themselves contain any sensitive information. Today, we only use the information that we gather from the use of cookies to (i) understand aggregate visitor usage patterns at the Site, (ii) offer personalized features and services to visitors, and (iii) identify problems experienced by visitors as they use our Site, including without limitation the following more specifically described cookie uses:
